On Sunday, my family was informed that my grandfather's Lymphoma had degraded to the point that the doctors could not safely proceed with Kemotherapy without killing him. Sometime early today, my grandfather lost the ability to swallow and was taken off all IV treatment. As of now, it's only a matter of hours and I'm waiting for the call. The good ( Read more... )

I was informed yesterday that Lady, our family's german shepherd, is going to be put to sleep today. She's been having progressively more trouble with her back legs and hips, and a couple of days ago she couldn't even stand up. The apartment has really shaped up over the last month, and I can say I have just about everything I need to live comfortably. One of the major additions that needed to be made was a vacuum. For anyone who's wondering, Liz's jaw surgery went "as smooth as silk", according to her surgeon (and considering what these guys get paid, I'd imagine they know the feel of silk). The boat is a little rocky emotionally, but physically, she's making fine progress recovering. She's talking (although she won't be pronouncing "unilateral" anytime soon ( Read more... )
