i'm having one of those crises of conscience at work.

sdi media employs all of their subtitle and caption editors as subcontractors (self-employed), rather than employees. it's not a small distinction. it allows the company a couple big advantages: they don't pay the 3% CPP employer contribution, the workforce can't unionize, and they can pay per ( Read more... )
