We spent another day in Apollo Bay - went to see the 12 apostles and some very pretty scenery - the limestone cliffs are being eroded by the sea, leaving big chunks of pretty rocks along the shoreline. Still really liking Melbourne - today we went to the aquarium in the morning, saw some very cute playful penguins. There were a couple of divers who went in with the fish to feed them which looked like fun, though the rays were a lot bigger than the divers! We went out to St Kildas Beach which is a suburb of Melbourne I guess - it's lovely there - nice shops and cafes along the road and the beach front. I had absolutely gorgeous sushi for lunch - it was awesome! Nom Nom Nom! Just arrived in Melbourne - I like it so far, and it's not rainy - woohoo! :o) Dinner with Paul and Jane last night was cool - I can't remember half the places they recommended in Melbourne though - information overload! First impression - like marmite, but not quite right. But on second tasting, it's actually rather nice :) Nom Nom Nom.

I really like Brisbane - it's got all the cool stuff you expect in a city, but feels all friendly and chilled :) Loving the weather - you can sit outside at night in tshirt and shorts for dinner and drinks. It feels kinda continental in that respect - there are tables outside all the restaurants and bars, which makes it feel busy, but also nice ( Read more... )

Yesterday we went to Australia zoo - the Steve Irwin one. It was ace - the crocs are really quite scary animals. We saw people feeding them, and they were definitely cautious - no wonder - their mouths and teeth are massive! To try to stay awake today we went to a Koala rescue place in Brisbane, where we got to cuddle a koala - it was gorgeous! We also fed the kangaroos, which are bizarre animals. Weather is super - around 30degrees with plenty of sun. Next up is dinner - nom nom nom!
