 So I am completely caught up with grading school papers(unless I left some at school inadvertently).  What an awesome feeling. Whee!

Not really wowed by the season finale of TrueBlood.  

 Whew what a day!   I had a great day at school with good kids.
I have a wonderful hubby who made homemade lasagne for dinner, and brownies.  What a guy!  
I had a great day, topped off by Japan Club after school that had somewhere around 45 kids there.  Oy!
Then off to a union meeting and training.
Again, home to lasagne.  Yum.

 Ah, a fine 3 day weekend.  John worked all weekend, so I spent the days doing errands, knocking around and taking care of things around the house.  I found the top of the kitchen table. Cool.  Probably did 5 loads of laundry or more.  Cut out the lining for a new pair of breeches for SCA.

 So last AP French class my darling APs show up...I tell them what we'll do today, blah blah blah....en francais of course.  One of the things was a reading on l'histoire de la France(history of France) where we talk about cave paintings in Lescaux and dolmen and menhirs and other Stonehengey but in  France stuff.

Francesca is so right about Arielle's superpower.  She always had time to listen to anyone.  She always made you feel like your opinion, and that you yourself were  important to her at that very moment.  I strive to do that every day in my classroom because many young people think that their opinions are not valued.  I need one of those bracelets ( Read more... )

 Home safe after long drive to NC.  Drove down Friday night, stayed with La F.  Stayed up way way too late talking, but it was awesome!  Went together to Arielle's memorial service.  It was a celebration of her life, with music and tears and stories and laughter.  Most of all, it was a group of people who treasured her and her many gifts, and who ( Read more... )
