In Mondrogon Spain, as a response to Franco's dismantling of the social safety net, the muti-billion dollar democratic worker co-op economy arose as a response. When the government stopped taking care of people, the worker co-ops picked up the slack. That is what we will have to do here in Madison. By now, many people know that my brother Rick got into a pretty serious bicycle accident yesterday at about 3:30 p.m. I don't know a lot of the details about the accident, because he's under some pretty seriously heavy sedation and is in a lot of pain.
