Mona's said that the police think Con is back and killing people the same way Pat did.

She wants to stay at her house in case he comes to find her so she can talk to him. Or if she can't talk to him, I think she is planning to kill him like she killed Pat.

It has been two whole years since the fire, and pretty much everything has changed since then.
