DEATH THE KID, SHINIGAMI/MEISTER (★★) ☇ SOUL PERCEPTION
Roy's initial impression of Death the Kid had not been favorable, to say the last - he had arrived at the height of Tohru Adachi's assault on Death City, and the boy's glaring absence (along with the absence of many of Shibusen's key figures) had not helped. Times have changed, however, and now that Roy has a better idea of how things had been back then, he's not holding grudges.
Being recruited as head of DOGs caught Roy by surprise. He welcomed the opportunity to get to know Kid better, however, and is now content with doing what he can to help out. They don't talk often, but when they do, it's never unfavorable.
MAKA ALBARN, MEISTER (★★) ☇ SOUL PERCEPTION
Half of one of Shibusen's strongest student pairs. Roy spoke with her on occasion before she and Soul left on their extended assignment outside of Death City, but it never at length - what he knows of Maka, he does mostly by reputation. They've recently had the opportunity to speak again, however, and he's decided that she's the kind of recruit he would have loved to have, back in the day.
The Maldives outing provided Roy with an opportunity to get to know Maka better: the two of them ended up talking about books, and generally enjoying each other's company. He's decided that he rather likes the girl.
SPIRIT ALBARN, WEAPON ☇ REIGNING DEATHSCYTHE
Given the fact that Spirit is Shibusen's so-called 'public face' and go-to man for everything, it shouldn't be too surprising that Roy relates with Spirit the most. He has always sympathized with the Deathscythe (he would, for one, NEVER want to be in Spirit's position ever), and their one conversation on the woes of handling kids has made him realize that they have a lot in common. They're allies, it seems, at holding Death City together, even if it means drowning in coffee and cigarettes to keep sharp and stay the course.
AZUSA YUMI, WEAPON ☇ DEATH SCYTHE SNIPER
Although they rarely talk, Azusa is quite the presence in Death City, and Roy has always been one to look out for people like her. She's a woman worthy of respect, and the fact that she has never failed to give Roy a straight answer about everything is a point of admiration to the man. He plans on asking her for advice in the future, regarding his plans to form an intelligence-gathering body on the witches.
MIFUNE, HUMAN ☇ STRONGEST SOUL
Anyone who has been in Death City long enough knows about Mifune, although Roy had never had any business with the man until the formation of the Watch. They have never spoken about anything with each other beyond work, but that suits Roy just fine. He knows that Mifune can handle things when he needs to.
