We are leaving at noon today and I don't feel well (getting adjusted to medication), so I will finish up comments, etc when I get back sometime after Tuesday. Hopefully MPRI (in Bloomington, IN) will have some good options for me. I'm nervous about the trip--my first since I got cancer! Crossing my fingers it all goes well. Quick thoughts
The pain clinic appt went well. The doc was very sympathetic and knew just what to do to start to combat this pain. He gave me a pain patch (the fentynol like I was on before) and a drug called topomax (sp?) that stops nerve pain, which is my worst pain. I'm worried about the patch, since it gave me terrible withdrawl when I went off of it ( Read more... ) -
Going with the flow
One of the things that had bothered me in my readings about Taoism and Zen was the notion not struggling against the force of nature, letting yourself go with the flow. In many things, this is a wonderful thought and is very helpful. Except when you factor in cancer ( Read more... ) -

still feel aweful. pain comes back every 5 hours, been trying not to scream, it scares everyone. but it hurts. no comments/emails today, i'm sorry. Almost too much just typing like this, i'll stop soon. pain meds do kick in most of time, just for ~1 hour every 5 hours lots of pain. pain clinic appt on the 8th. they better be able to do ( Read more... ) -

I can't believe it...I'm sleeping days away, too tired/dizzy to do anything. Computer screen is kinda swirly, need to stop. :( Thank you for well wishes, hopefully I will feel better one of these days. Pain drugs can be mean...stop pain, but stop brain, too. Can't read. Pain, thanks, and my appointment
Just so I can feel better, I'm talking about my pain first. So, if this is getting old for you, skip ahead. :) Last night I woke up at 5am, exactly 5.5 hours after I had taken a percocet, and I couldn't decide if I should take another or not. The baptism went well. Payton is such a little cutie. She was cranky at the church, but at the house afterwards when I was leaving she blew me a big kiss and waved. Adorable. :) She is 18 months old, and in day care they taught her sign language from an early age. She was just so mad when no one realized she was making a sign for food--she ( Read more... )
