Lola is feeling MUCH better today. Yesterday, she was so whiney and clingy that I thought she might be feeling worse. So I took her with me everywhere I went, whether it was to get a soda, to the bathroom, everywhere. She slept with me last night and today - she's back to normal. So glad she's better. Having a pet is a lot like a baby where it can be really frustrating- they can't tell you what is wrong.

You are going to laugh but...

My mother and I were talking about this very thing. I said that Lola is a lot of work and my life has changed a bit. I'm home more, I love spending time with her, and she requires a lot of care and a lot of $$. I never thought about it before because I've never planned to have children, but I know that a committment to a child is "Lola" + a zillion. Just something I never thought about before. I have a real appreciation/respect/awe for good parents like you.

I know that sounds stupid, but I just woke up and am feeling like sharing. :-)

Doesn't sound stupid at all. Until they hit about three years old, kids and dogs are eerily similar. And puppies are as much work as babies.

Lola is your baby. Just a different kind of baby. One of our friends got a puppy that was born around the same time as Joshua and it was hysterical. They'd be doing almost identical things at the same time. And were equally exhausting.

Yeah LOLA!!! And yeah, more vacation, please... I really hated going back last Monday... yucky! I'd like to get paid what I get paid and be able to show up only when the feeling moves me to. That would be once, maybe twice a year... *snicker*
