I loved Human Biology - I did it for O Level and was really disappointed when I went on to do A level that it wasn't available - only Biology with plants :(
Hah, I'm almost the opposite - I loved History and English (in Scotland, Eng. language and literature were not split out), but it was the literature side of things I loved most.
I think it was more the set texts we had to study than the idea itself. Plus, I don't remember that the analysis had any depth, which I later discovered and enjoyed, but that might be my poor memory.
And my timeline is okay. Mine too. I would hate not to have had my past.
I think the subject choices were a result of the very prosaic limitations of the timetable - which rooms and which teachers were available. You were lucky in your school, or that your preferences fitted well with the schools capacity. There were certainly some choices I was forced to make for O Levels when I would have preferred to be able to do both subjects.
I've learned so much from my mistakes and there is the fear that changing something could change my present which, COVID aside, is pretty darn good. That said, I think I'd like to change the way I did a few things so they didn't hurt the people I love so much. Tweaks if you will.
My favorite subject in college was history. In high school and before we were never given the context and it wasn't interesting. Once I got to do a deep dive I loved it. Still love it, I read quite a bit of history even now.
Exactly - the way life works out is the sum of all the things that happen and the decisions we make. However, small tweaks would probably not be too bad.

I was very lucky that my school let me do all the GCSEs I wanted (two languages and history) as well as the obligatory ones. Not many did...
