The Shallow in the Deep/The Babe in the Bar

*waves* After dealing with endless weeks of sick kids, spending a night in the hospital with my baby boy, and surviving the holiday weekend with my parents (I do love my family, don't get me wrong), I'm finally back and ready to peer into the two eps I haven't yet covered. At first I was going to do separate entries, but the thing of it is, these ( Read more... )

When you lay it all out like this, it makes so much sense and I can see all the layers. It irritates me that I can't see it, without your help, and am just miserable, ready to give in and give up the show. So thank you, for doing this and giving me a reason to continue for a few more episodes...btw, this is NOT my favorite season. I miss B & B together, even if now, as only friends.

*hugs* Honestly, I think the reason people are feeling so down on this season is because they are SUPPOSED to. Does that makes sense? It's like at a hoity-toity jewelers: they don't use a pristine, white cloth to highlight the facets, but rather a deep, black one.

Things HAD to get dark for these two before the true brilliance of their love could flourish. Brennan is on that cusp, Booth isn't lost forever, and when they START -really start- a relationship it won't be a flash-in-the-pan, cheesy sort of thing that we are used to seeing as modern TV viewers.

I get that people are growing frustrated, I really do. But it's like my kids wanting dessert right away when we sit down to dinner. Sure, it'll taste great, but it's not sustaining or nourishing and ten minutes later they'll want more.

Just hang in there through the dark spots (hardly anyone REALLY loves the dark), try to think about how the pieces you don't like fit into the bigger picture, and in the end I truly believe it will be satisfying for ALL of us.

Gum :)

And this is why I love the sixth season possibly more than any other thus far. It's making me think, and feel, and ache for these characters who I've come to love.

This. Right here. Yup. ITA across the board!

So many golden nuggets of well-stated analysis. For some reason, when it comes to this show, I talk circles around myself to get to my point. This is why I don't host my own blog ( ... )

Thanks for some great insights and a different way of looking at Season 6. Although I will keep watching week to week, I'm beginning to think that Season 6 will be best enjoyed in DVD format -when I can watch episodes in quick succession. It's a procedural, after all, and the character stuff has to be woven into it, so that explains why we move at a glacial pace, but it isn't really that much fun to watch the painful things we see our beloved characters doing and for that reason it would probably be better if we could just get it over with at once - like ripping off a bandaid ( ... )
