When we moved here the front lawn had two spots where there was no grass -- only a few reluctant weeds gasping in the dust. I decided to dig those areas up, repair the soil and plant lovely flowers. Yesterday evening.

Hanging upside down. Cleaning up a dead branch. I love the sound of their drilling! He stuck around long enough for me to fetch the boy so he could see, too. Then he did his laugh sound and flew off.

A Carolina Wren was watching me make coffee this morning from the window box!
