Jun looked at Toma with his bangs tied up in the front as he scurried from one end of the house to the other, trying to read a script and cook Jun dinner all at once.

Sho had looked angrily at him and forced him to go to the doctor who banned all the gunk Jun’s been eating made by the culinary failure he calls husband and Toma’s been trying to cook by the book the doctor had provided ever since; milk based high iron content foods. Pills couldn’t make up for everything.

Jun tried not to hyperventilate as Toma’s t-shirt fluttered busily every time he’d go ‘Yabai’ and sprint to do whatever chore Toma insisted on Jun not doing.

BUT OMG, OMG, OMG O-EM- GEEEEEEE

TOMA IS LIKE THE BEST BOYFRIEND EVERRRRRRRR.

Jun added a little girly squeal at the end in his mental hyperventilation of his extremely caring boyfriend who has been pampering him non-stop since he fired Ohno as midwife.

He did take advantage of this fact and maybe he sometimes crossed the limit.

Jun thought back to yesterday.

“TOMA! I want peaches!” Jun said crossing his arms and pouting.

“Sure honey I’ll get them,” Toma kissed his forehead and grabbed his keys.

Jun waited till Toma was halfway out the front door before calling him back in, “Honey?” Jun called batting his eyelashes and Toma came back in trepidation, “not from the super honey, oh no...I want FRESH peaches, like the time we went on that orchard for Mago Mago Arashi.”

Toma’s eyes twitched dangerously but Jun faced him off with a sweet sugary smile.

Toma excused himself for a moment and stalked into the bathroom. The screams of frustration Jun heard did little to phase his determination to see Toma suffer. Moments of silence, shuffling and muffled voices progressed before Toma came back out looking oddly calm and adorably determined as he poured himself a cup of coffee, gulped it down in record time that would surely burn that pretty pink tongue of his, grabbed Jun’s wrist and dragged him out to the car clad in purple pinstriped pyjamas.

Jun had to suppress a smile at Toma peering out at the dark road ahead as they slowly left the city. He wanted to go to sleep, but actually he couldn’t take his eyes off Toma blinking stupidly at the map and back to the road every now and then or uttering a slight curse and scratch his head, ruffling up his hair. He sat up straight on his seat and reached out a hand to tuck Toma’s loose curls behind his ear and then trail a finger enticingly along the shell. Toma flinched and the car lurched dangerously to a side, Jun chuckled in triumph.

Jun sighed and sat back down, in a rare moment of being overcome with guilt. He didn’t lie about wanting peaches. He did, but actually the combini peaches would have been just fine. Actually, he wanted to go on a road trip, for a romantic outing. If he left it up to Toma he’d have taken them to the beach, where he’d be painfully reminded of how much he missed surfing or be flooded with Toma’s excruciating gushing on the fun times he spent on the beach with ‘Yamapi’ during the 4tops days. So he was too blind to notice the ball of sexy, cute and awesome that Toma was back then; forgive him already, don’t remind him of his stupid mistake 24/7!

But dammit he didn’t mean to drag Toma out on a 4 hour drive at freaking 10 pm either! He possibly couldn’t tell Toma, not now, not that he was so very determined, not that he already drove half the way and it was past midnight. Jun’s roadtrip wasn’t romantic but he certainly didn’t want it to turn into a nightmare. At least Toma was calm beside him. On retrospect, if they’d gone to the beach maybe Toma’d have agreed to have sex with him. How long have they not done it? Ever since Jun found out, it was one thing or other and three months passed without incident and Jun’s tummy was start to fill out. Soon he’d be fat and Toma’d be disgusted to have sex with him.

He sighed for the umpteenth time that day; this experience was only pushing them farther away. Wasn’t pregnancy supposed to bring hearts closer? Sure, Toma catered to Jun’s every whimsical wish but maybe just maybe he did it for the baby. Who was he kidding, of course Toma did it for the baby!

A tear rolled down Jun’s cheek and he turned to face out the window. As soon as he’s have the baby Toma would leave him. He wanted too much, he demanded too much, he was even starting to get in the way of Toma’s hard built career making him take a break. Of course Toma would break up with such a selfish person once the baby was born. He was so stupid, he had a perfectly wonderful love life ad he ruined it with his own two hands (and stomach). He rubbed his belly, “Mama’s a horrible person, right?” and he cried his heart out, biting his lip so that Toma would not hear his sobs.

They stopped a while later and Jun hastily wiped his tears. Toma parked the car and got out of the car. He trudged on over to the passenger door and held it open for Jun who only glanced at him pitifully. Toma’s expression softened as he took Jun’s hand and pulled him out gently. The orchard was probably closed but the light was on inside one hut and they walked hand in hand towards it.

Toma talked to one groggy field worker already temperamental due to the late night and Jun saw him being scolded lightly. Toma came back dejectedly and informed him that it was off season. Jun looped his hands around his neck giving him consolation when suddenly a different worker dropped a bag full of young plants in front of them and ordered them to get to work on row 18. Toma blinked at him for a few minutes but before they could correct the worker’s mistake he was gone and they looked at the poor plants sagging on the floor. They couldn’t just leave them here.

And that is how Jun found himself pregnant and covered in mud, crouched over soil at 2 am a few hundred miles from Tokyo holding a torch light as Toma dug in to the soil to plant the young peach plants.

Not one of his best nights, they slept over at the orchard that day before he could trust Toma not to fall asleep at the wheel. But the workers had realized their mistake and apologized profusely then teasing them about coming all the way out to the orchard for peaches. When they were well rested clean and ready to head back around midday there was a basket full of peaches and a thank you note. Toma high fived the air happily before biting into a peach. He looked at Jun guiltily before offering him the peach and Jun shared it happily.

“You know, a peach is an upside down heart mark.” Toma shared wisely.

“Stop quoting lines from your drama endings idiot.” Jun punched his shoulder playfully.

That would explain the rotting upside down heart marks on their kitchen counter. Toma promised to make jam with it and feed Jam. A pun that made Jun roll his eyes and Toma chortle.

Toma came up to him finally with his balanced pregnancy food. Honestly it didn’t look any better than Ohno’s family gunk but Jun didn’t say anything as he accepted the plate and smiled at Toma sadly. Toma sat way too far away on the couch. Jun’s lip trembled and glad he could blame the food if tears dared to spill out. Despite the enjoyable experience from yesterday Jun felt very distant from Toma who was looking at the television with utter concentration while Jun shovelled his food down unenthusiastically. He needed to do something for Toma, to show him that he wasn’t just a selfish, cranky pregger. His eyes locked onto the basket of peaches on the kitchen counter.

Hmmm...

A/N: This was supposed to come much later but I feel love deprived. So leave me a word. If nothing about the fiction, just a hello would be nice too. It’s mostly flashback. I don’t know why...
