Ah, Bennington. Naked people, scary freshmen in black trenchcoats, and twenty-foot tall bonfires. Sadly, I haven't seen NEARLY enough naked people and far too many scary freshmen (really just the one guy, but he's pretty scary), but I'm sure that'll change as the year goes on. "When You Dream, What Do You Dream About?"
It's four in the morning, it's just stopped raining outside, and it's hot as satan's armpit in my bedroom. For some reason, when my parents come home from maine, the thermostat stays in the same place, but the house is no longer pleasantly cool, and the AC doesn't come on nearly as often as it does when it's just me. We have a woodstove in our family room, which is connected to the outside world by a small, metal chimney. Birds like to build nests on top of this chimney despite the fact that, inevitably, they come sliding down this sooty tube of death to expire inside the ashy sarcophagas that is the Shoemaker family woodstove ( Read more... ) -

My great uncle Franklin (my mother's uncle) died yesterday at around 5:30. I called my mother something like ten minutes after she heard the news, so the conversation consisted mostly of the two of us crying in turns.
