After months of basically begging hospitals for jobs in this recession-stricken, hiring frozen Texas Medical Center, I would estimate maybe a 1/3 - 1/2 of my class have jobs. i just printed out my diploma form to apply for. nursing school is going by WAY TOO FAST. this summer's "easy" semester flew by and i've enjoyed it but i didn't get a chance to review any NCLEX questions. our pysch clinicals have made me miss my stethoscope and i am not looking forward to the hell of pedi/ob next semester and working 30 hr weeks ( Read more... )

i start clinicals next week.

i can already see my first catheter/ng tube insertion going something like this:

"Have you done this before?"
"Well... yes, plenty of times."
"Then why are you having such a hard time finding the damn hole. I don't like my cha-cha hanging out like this."

I think I'm falling in love with Texas Medical Center. This place is just so amazing. I've driven around it before and whenever Joel comes in we drive in it and try to find new hospitals/areas we haven't discovered and always do.
