Tori and I met with my surgeon Thursday afternoon to discuss the pathology report on my evil twin and see how my suture was healing and all that. The tumor was sent to the Joint Pathology Center in DC. Turns out it was quite the interesting case. The diagnosis is that I officially have/had a malignant melanoma. And the verdict is...
Stage 3 adrenal cancer. The tumor has been sent off for additional analysis and a second opinion and all but it appears to have been cancerous. Well I didn't have much to think about lying in bed on percocet and valium letting my six pack heal so there's that ( Read more... ) -
home sweet home
discharged from the hospital this morning. follow up appt sometime this week to find out about the pathology and recovery time and all that. all my tubes and lines have been removed and I am expected to be in bed for a couple of weeks. but for now home with the family, got to take a shower, and be near my family. thank you God for watching over my ( Read more... ) -
It's outta there!
The surgery took just over 6 hours. The docs told me they got the whole tumor. They also said it was the size of a softball and that it was stuck to my pancreas, kidney, liver and several blood vessels.
We are waiting on the pathology still so we will have to see whether it was malignant or not. My incision is about 8 inches long and i should be in ( Read more... ) -

72 Hours to go. Tori's mom flew in Friday night so she could help be supportive for Tori as well as help with the kids. A friend of ours that moved back to Dayton around the same time we did is taking the day off and her husband is going to be with Tori at the hospital. At the library with the kids for story and craft time tonight. I have a week until my surgery. I am beyond impatient for this to happen. I have some discomfort in my side just about every day now.

I have a date
So, Monday Tori and I met with one of the surgeons at the base medical center. He said that he and the urologist will be working together on the case and that they will attempt a laproscopic approach and if that doesn't work then they will fall back on an open adrenalectomy. The next step
I have been trying to get more information regarding the unknown cause of pain that put me in the hospital last month. I was able to get a follow-up MRI done last week and the report was issued a couple of days ago. I have a follow-up appt with the surgery clinic on Monday morning but I wanted to see the report prior to then so I knew where things ( Read more... ) -
