Archer; A long-range class of fighters, archers have moderate physical strength and specialize in wielding various bows.
Bard; A lyrical, melodic class of musicians, bards function primarily as a support group. They wear lightweight tunics and feathered hats, arm themselves with harps, and are capable of singing various songs for various effects on both allies and enemies. Their stats are abysmally low.
Black Mage; The darker of the primary mage classes, black mages, as their title suggests, specialize in black magic. They have incredibly high magic stats and MP, but very low physical stats. They equip lightweight armor, robes, and staffs.
Blue Mage; A mage class which gains new spells through sheer masochism being hit by certain spells and surviving them.
Chemist; A unique class: masters of item lore. Some call their work alchemy, others synthesis. Chemists are adept in the mixing of potions, crafting of materials, and creation of new items for support or attack purposes. They equip light armor, daggers and hammers.
Dancer; A magical attack class that bewitches enemies with intricate dances. While athletic, they are physically weak and have high magic stats. They equip light silks, rods, staves and daggers.
Dark Knight; The counterbalance of the paladin class, dark knights are characterized by their dark armor and darkness-imbued swords.
Dragoon; An impressive offshoot of the knight class, dragoons are slightly more agile in their ability to use the 'jump' ability but are about equal in terms of physical strength. They equip heavy armor modified to resemble dragons and spears.
Knight; A noble class of warriors with high physical strength. They are capable of collaborating with black mages for magic sword attacks, taking damage for allies, and lowering the stats of their opponents. They equip heavy armor and swords.
Monk; A hands-on class of close range fighters, monks rely on only their own bodies to carry them through. They are limited to equipping light tunics, and the only weapons they use are claws, gloves, and knuckles.
Ninja; Almost a combination of the thief and knight classes, the ninja class is highly agile as well as physically strong. Their specialty as a class is the 'throw' ability, and they can equip daggers and boomerangs. (Yes, a shuriken counts. Yuffie. :| But your class doesn't have the steal ability so put that muffin back.)
Paladin; A holy offshoot of the knight class, paladins are a compromise between knights and white mages. They have great physical strength, are capable of equipping heavy armor and holy-imbued swords, and can cast several white magic and holy spells as well as use the Seiken ability skillset.
Red Mage; A jack of all trades, and master of none, red mages can perform low-level black-magic spells and white-magic spells, as well as possess some capabilities with a sword. However, being versed in all of these things means they're not particularly amazing at any of them.
Summoner; A powerful mage class specializing in the summoning of Eidolons. They are also capable of white or black magic, and equip the same weapons and armor as the other mage classes.
Thief; A fleet-footed class of fighters known for having moderate physical stats, low defenses and magic stats, and incredibly high speed and evasion. They are limited to equipping lightweight armors and vests, and wield primarily daggers, short swords, and double bladed naginata.
White Mage; A class which specializes in white magic. They are the primary healers of the world, and like all other mage classes they have high magic stats and low physical stats. They equip lightweight armor, robes, rods, rackets, and flutes.
