For Rasler. Up until his actual death, no post-death. For his 'point in canon', is it possible to have him suddenly transferred within seconds of the arrow piercing him? Or even as he is struck? Unless that involves some weird, crazy teleportation ... and stuff?
Yeah that's fine, as long as he doesn't arrive just to bleed out. (Well, he could but I don't think that'd be fun for anyone involved. xD;) Nero, for example, was taken after sustaining a fatal wound but he conveniently fell into a healing spring on this end and was magically better.
It's always been what I personally felt (Tsuki mod here), and it's an overwhelmingly popular theory in what little IX fandom there is. (i.e. all the doujin I've ever seen, etc.)
One: Me and a fellow mun I know have put in reservations for Balthier and Fran. Would we be able to keep the Strahl? Perhaps say they crash-land somewhere, thanks to falling asleep due to this blinding light?
Two: As Balthier, I'd obviously put him as thief, but they are restricted to daggers. This poses a problem, as Balthier uses a gun... So, any thoughts?
One: For the sake of balance, we're going to have to say no to the airship. Fran and Balthier can come in with items that they would carry on a person, but the Strahl is too big. (Fran's bow, Balthier's gun, Squall's gunblade, Larsa's hi-potion pack would all be portable enough to come along.) They are however welcome to acquire a new one the old-fashioned way theft for pirates, and we'd love to see them do it.
Two: Mention the guns under special abilities and you're all good. Same for his awesome piloting skills. Our common example is that Yuffie is a ninja, but she'll still rob you blind.

It's our understanding that Dissidia is something like a post-canon for all the characters, like Revenant Wings is a post-canon game for FFXII. So Golbez may absolutely remember those events and recognize people. I'm sure it will confuse them all!
What about a character like Scarmiglione? There is no backstory for him, but would I be able to play him? Would I simply use the very small backstory, or should I put some thought into it and cook something interesting up?
In general, for histories and backstories, we prefer that players stick to the known facts about the character, rather than taking too many creative liberties with them. What's important to us is a well thought out, and detailed personality that shows that the player knows the character inside and out, and quality samples that reflect both the personality and knowledge of the character's game setting, in addition to being good sound rp writing.
So, tl;dr that would be a yes. We have characters like Nida from FFVIII and Rasler from FFXII as a couple of examples in the applications. As long as the character is true to canon and not starting to delve into fanon or becoming an OC, we're good with it.

If we're accepted, would Balthier and Fran be able to wake up together? Since they are always around each other, never truly apart...?
