The Batman, Jonathan finally concluded, feared nothing so much as his own heart.

Oh, that's just a perfect line. I'd love to see you continue this. And your Scarecrow is very nice indeed. Did you have the Batman Begins Scarecrow in mind as you wrote it? Because I kept remembering that scene when Batman shows up and Crane says "Shh! It's him!" with that sort of "I am in the presence of the master!" tone. This all reads like a continuation of that feeling, and it's very nice indeed.

well I plan on continuing it... but it'll be spotty since... I don't have a plot ^_^;;;; I've got some ideas... but this was just a bunny so I have to see where it takes me.

As far as WHICH scarecrow I had in mind... it was probably an amalgam of a lot of different versions. Mostly the original comics and B:TAS scarecrows. The bully thing weasled it's way in there. As much as I loved Cillian Murphy (My gosh those EYES. Every time I see that movie I'm sitting there going "no one's eyes can naturally be that color. they punched it up in post didn't they?") he didn't really play into the writing of this... but the more I think about it... the more it fits. which must mean that either I'm doing something right or he did in the film. ^_^;

I found I liked writing the Scarecrow. He's wonderfully suited to stream of consciouness.
