What a bad day.

Nov 24, 2004 02:58

My Aunt just called the house. It's 3:00 in the morning so you know it can't be good news. My Grandmother on my dads side of the family isn't supposed to make it to see day light. She is in the hospital again and nobody told me. She was so healthy, at least we though so ( Read more... )

Does your brother really have a schitzophrania disorder?
I admitt, that i get angry and possibly even exasperated by people with behavioral issues that refuse to help themsleves. But then again i might possibly one of the least understanding human beings there is when it comes to illness and strange mantality.

It's nice to hear that you care about him. I feel the same way about my siblings although i would probably never openly admitt it to them.
You seem like a good person.

Behavioral disorders are never fun. Trust me, I've been dealing with severe depression for half of my life. No matter how hard it may be, I really hope you can continue to be there for your brother. I'm also sorry to hear about your grandma. If you ever need someone to talk to, you're more than welcome to borrow my ear.

your brother may feel that he is beyond help, and that he is a burden to those who love him. i don't doubt that you will stand by him, even in the hours when you *really* don't want to, because you have such a high level of integrty.

if you get a chance, try to see your grandmother. if nothing else, make sure you won't regret anything. i missed my grandfather by mere seconds.

and like mindy said, my ear is yours whenever you need it!

It seems like your brother is crying out for help now. It doesn't seem very likely that he would refuse treatment right now. Have your parents ever read up on any of this? I'm going to print some stuff up and if you want to, you can give it to them.

I did think he was joking at first but when he wouldn't move out of the doorway I remembered what you told me earlier in the day.

I'm sorry about your grandma, Fahed. You were there for me when my grandpa was sick and you know I will be there for you day or night if you need me. I love you sweet stuff.

what's sad is that even if you printed out 10 million sheets of paper pointing to his problem... brought over 10 doctors with the same answer... and had him admit it himself... his parents still won't believe it..

about 2 or 3 years back i was really depressed... i became an insomniac... the more i was at home the worse i got... my dad couldn't understand what was wrong with me... i told him flat out that i was depressed/going through depression... he looked at me with the most quizzical look i've ever seen him give... he couldn't understand it... in the old country there's no such thing as depression, paranoid schizophrenia, or even simple shit like ADHD... that's the problem...
