Happy Halloween and other happy things.
Historically, October has always been my favorite month; there's always so much to look forward to. The happy would always begin mid-month on my birthday and continue to escalate right up to Halloween, the subsequent Days of the Dead on November 1st and 2nd spent in blissful sugar shock. Of course it'd choose my birthday to to begin crapping out.
I suppose, though, I should be grateful. I still remember being woken up the morning of my sixteenth birthday by my father with the ever-so-welcome news that my kitty had been hit and killed by a car. Things could be worse.
