Yeah, I want to see Dance Disaster Movement too... what the hell is it?
Um, I can't go with you tonight, and something about a movie concerning Finns trekking around Finland screams "slow-moving" to me, but if you ever want to see a French film where really good-looking people throw things at each other and then make out, or a Spanish film where, um, really good-looking people throw things at each other and then make out, or, like, any sort of Slavic film at all, let me know.
Also, the Playwrights Horizon theater has a pretty interesting season coming up, and they have a student package where you can get four performances for $40, which is the same price as four movies. I still have my college ID. Interested?

Dammit, take my word for it, won't you? Kaurismaki is not slow-moving. He is very, very funny, and his films keep up the pace. And they're not trekking around the whole of Finland, they're just trying to get from Helsinki to the suburbs. Ha ha ha!
C'mon.
By the by, French films wher good looking people throw things at each other and then make out can suck suck suck, as often as not. Did you see "A Gentle Woman", the Bresson movie? hot people throwing things, making out. Dullllllllll.
But then you go to Spain and see Jamon Jamon, where not only do hot people throw things at each other and make out, but really, really hung guys get completely naked and go bull fighting, flailing their semi-erections around.
are his films generally painfully slow moving; I read the Atkinson jack off piece, but Atkinson is weird... I mean I LOVE Bergman (obviously) but like Bresson and Denis get kinda unbearable, buT i guess it depends, I really dug GERRY
oh, and I have plans, but he's maybe cancelling
WAIT!!!!!
yur supposed to hang out with Nica! She told me so last night and you like HAVE TO, cuz...yeah, so fuck you, charles, you aint goin to the cinema
Don't listen to him. Fanny and Alexander is a terrific film. I've often thought BSJ had questionable taste in certain areas. I would love to go experience the Fins with you, but I have to go to explore my libidinal nature tonight. But I love foreign art films, so you may call me when you when all of your friends are out watching The Hulk. I'm also looking for people to go to the theater with (hint, hint).
oh my god, would everyone please give me a fucking break?
i am having a REALLY SHITTY DAY OKAY? REALLY REALLY SHITTY SHITTY DAY.
nuncstans, don't be pullin' that kindergarten crap, "oh, i would go with you, totalvirility, but am impeded by anthrochica" you said you did not care on way or another...
i am sorry, i am not up for watching 15 men named Frank navigate their way through Helsinki at the moment. i am in a state of mind where i need to be able to distinguish between my characters with ease so re-reify my faith in individuality and the value thereof.
On the contrary, anthrochica, watching 15 men named Frank navigate their way through Helsinki is exactly what you need. You need to take a lesson in self-medication. Anything Finnish may taste bad, but it's good for you.

god damn it. I don't even like shit, i just am in dire need of shiny glossy fun while trashed, thus the only 2 movies i've gotten off my ass to see within the last 6 months or something were charlies angels 2 and the matrix 2. however if there's one thing i've learned from this, it's that even the cream of the hollywood crap (ie those two films) is a promise that does not deliver. even with the assistance of the special sandwich I brought (which sucked...damn the anarchist cookbook's nasty guacamole recipe,) I left charlies angels feeling like I'd just arrived at my destination after a 2 hour long ride in the backseat of my dad's car zipping along the highways of Upstate with the sun glaring in my eyes.
the sad thing is i love movies. love movies. historically they have brought me such joy, but recently they've been bringing the pain. also they cost money i don't have.
point being, I watched not one but two european films, with subtitles, this week on dvd. i was proud of this as my anxiety disorder is such at this point in

What libidinal things are you doing? Do tell.

And, naturally, my tastes in theater tend to run towards libidinal things. I mean, this is Klingrap we're talking about.
