2013 Round Uppp
Welcome to year end. I feel like this year has been a bit of a mess (not a small bit of a mess), but I also feel like things are looking up and I've come through the worst of it. This is a good way to start a new year: hopeful, optimistic, and in charge. Pretty great.

An important realization:
I don't miss home.
Or at least, Ottawa doesn't feel like home any more. It is grey and wet and all of the stores are crowded, so I might be coming to this conclusion a little prematurely, or at least at the worst possible time of year, but I don't miss all this ( Read more... ) -
Posting not about goals or nothin
I had a long chat earlier this week with old friend mediochre and I think I remember lamenting a little that nobody really uses livejournal anymore. If we didn't actually talk about that, we talked about basically everything else from 5-8 years ago and afterwards I realized how much I missed livejournal.

2013 Q4
So things are ok and I am ok and ok is a good place to be.
Some goals for this quarter:- Food: making good progress towards eating better. I have a weekly meal-planner on my fridge and have been pretty good about sticking to it. I sometimes end up eating leftovers rather than whatever was scheduled for that day, but I'm OK with that, it's still ( Read more... )

Yesterday
Yesterday evening was one of those completely perfect feeling evenings that make me so happy that I live up here in the subarctic. I don't know that there was any event in particular that made it that way, but the weather was lovely, I sat outside for dinner with a bunch of dogs and a purring cat in my lap, I rode my bike back and forth across town ( Read more... ) -

What is a "good" GPA?
Is a 3.88 pretty ok? It seems reasonable- I mean, there were courses I could have done a little better in, and I hope to do a little better next term, but I figure that's pretty alright.
I want to keep my marks up to make it easier to get into a Master's program once I've finally jumped through this hoop. Onto the next hoop! MORE HOOPS. -
Job interview good feelings
This morning I had a job interview at the public library for the position of Assistant Local Librarian. It'd be about 12 hours a week, hours that are compatible with staying in school and continuing my courses, at sweet GNWT wages, for a professional position relevant to my career goals ( Read more... ) -

And now I'm single.
I don't entirely know how I feel about this, but I think it's OK.
Michael said he has been a bad partner; I told him he hadn't been a partner at all.
He said that he didn't want to break up with me because it would make me sad; I told him had already made me sadder than I thought was even possible when he left me for MacMurray ( Read more... )
