We had a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday weekend! I realize this post is a week after the fact, but because I had such a wonderful time, I have spent the last week recuperating. Wednesday puffinboy, D1, D2, and I began our six hour drive north. We had driven about 15 minutes when suddenly Puffinboy exclaimed that we had to turn around and go back home. What ( Read more... )

Nice to see you back in these here parts!

Sounds like a very hectic Thanksgiving! Glad to hear that the wedding went well (Mom to the rescue!) and next bird day will surely make up for the drawbacks that occured this year.

I've spent the past 5 days being particularly lazy myself, catching up on reading all sorts of stuff. Enjoy your funfilled weekend!

Thanks, it's nice to be back. I try to spend a little time at the computer every couple of days to read and catch up on everyone else. By the time I've done that, I don't feel like posting. Then, I lay in bed at night and think about posting a journal entry, but never get around to it.

Yes, next Thanksgiving will be back to "normal" and all the traditions will be put back in their places, I'm sure. Makes us appreciate the same ol' same ol' that much more. However, we did have many laughs and much teasing over everything that went awry this year.

What sorts of stuff have you been reading?

Lost this in the shuffle...sorry!

I hear you about reading and catching up with things - that's been my m.o. as well.

Most of my reading so far has been non-books - newspapers, usenet, e-mail and general catch up. I did finish the last Harry Potter book and am now looking to pull a mystery or two off the shelf to go after. I've collected a big bunch in thrift stores and garage sales while out here - it's easy to see if you like a particular author or not if you're only investing .50 cents. ;-)

I just picked up the Da Vinci Code so that will be one of the first things and then I'll try one of Ed Koch's or Lilian Braun's.

I also have some DVDs I need to watch that some very nice people lent me. :-)
