Rudy Ray Moore died on Sunday.  I Ain't Lyin'!  He was 81.

I love Rudy Ray Moore. I love his raunchy stand-up.  I love how he claimed to have invented rap.  I love his music.  I love his movies for being the most unsubtle & least poignant of all the blaxploitation movies I’ve ever seen, but also being the most fun.

It's my last day here at the good ol' office  The staff got me a card, a USC coffee mug, and a box of Pop Tarts.  The pop tarts are what I've been subsisting off for the past couple of weeks without a refrigerator & stove.  I haven't read the card yet, I'll do that on my way home.

Last night, I got drunk and watched Fright Night.  I passed out with about 20 minutes left, but before that, I remember thinking that this was a good movie for the Halloween season.  Not all horror movies are good Halloween movies.  I wouldn't watch The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to get me into the Halloween spirit. My temp gig at USC ends Friday.  Temps are only allowed to work 1000 hours or 6 months at this place in one position.  I guess it's for the best.  I hate this place and the only time I liked it was during the Summer, when I actually had important work to do and I was fondling an 18 year old on my lunch breaks.  Since then, they've had me doing this ( Read more... )

On October 15 & 16, The New Beverly is showing Night of the Demon (not to be confused with Night of the Demons, with Linnea Quigley and a tube of lipstick) and F.W. Murnau's Faust.  That's the most awesome double-feature since Fright Night/A Nightmare on Elm Street 3.
