She wrote the book.

I'm sure it was adapted for the tele in some way, but it's basically her story.

Hardly.

I believe fully that a person is completely capable of maintaining happiness while remaining single. Everyone will always have those urges to 'fulfill' that part of themselves, but I think (know, for myself) that only people, singularly, can fulfill themselves.
