Writing, whether of fact or fiction, has saved my sanity on multiple occasions. It's better on paper than keyboard, I think; the hands understand what they're shaping better. I feel great now. Or possessed of the necessary resources to challenge myself and get stuff done, at least. Thus writing is one form of this Forest I've been thinking ( Read more... )

Call me sometime. I know I said in my email that I'd call you, but it turns out my phone screen has faded to the point where I can no longer distinguish even people's names most of the time and I don't know your number from memory. I'm available whenever and my phone isn't loud enough to wake me if I'm asleep, so call anytime.

Michael Moseley sure was one neat kid.

I have tomorrow off work and HOLY SHIT I am going shopping. I haven't quite decided what I'm shopping for, but that's okay. Maybe shoes. I think the ones I have are reaching the "work shoes only" point. I mean, if I even stand within sight of a puddle, I get wet socks. WTF.

OH! Today, I was bringing crappy fast food to this family of five sitting at the tables at work, and the little girl (who could not have been more than four) looked up at me with this adorable face and said "You're pretty!" It was the best thing ever.

And there was this adorable puppy about an hour later. It was...some sort of poofball. And it was so cute.

And then, of course, there's this.

Ha, what a great moment.

The little Rent people are amusing. I wonder how far that'll go.

Shop well. It might be a pretty rainy season. Or, for that matter, it might be another drought. Isn't uncertainty exciting?

My sister's going to Iraq, I'm going to see you, Matt will eat delicious food with me, I'm writing a lot-ish? (funny, I was thinking just the opposite earlier), I'm becoming an activist, and we're getting a hippie house in less than two months. Rock on.

We shall talk more... TOMORROW!

All throughout I was like, "Jake dude," I was like, "I seen you in somethin' befo'," and afterward IMDB was all like "He was Donnie Darko, foo'."

LMFAO

Show the volition. I thought, "'Show the violin', WTF?"

I keep telling you you're just overstressed. Think 'the pressure building up in your body is causing blood to come out'. I'll try to find something to help you get isotonic again.

Everyone get isotonic! :-)

In other news, I am glad to know you, Andw Davd Frer.

I don't generally feel stressed this semester except for the bit preceding this entry. And the rest of the cast is dealing with just as much as me without bleeding over it, save for the spots they rip open on their legs during Suzuki. But thank you for your help.

Glad to amuse you, and to know you as well.

I was impressed with the cinematography in Brokeback too, but I must say I was disappointed with the story line...the characters didn't seem that well-developed and the transitions were poor. It could have been much better than it was. I'm very fond of Jake Gylenhall, though.

I'm also dosappointed that you used the word "randomness". That word annoys me to no end.

Question: If'n I was to come to New Orleans to interview you for that paper that I was telling you about...when might be a convenient time for you? Perhaps, schedules permitting, I could fetch you and bring you to St. Francisville, and that way you could get out of the city for a while...anyway, drop me an e-mail and let me know.

Heh, heh...you don't reeeeallly want to know what's up with me, but I'll probably tell you anyway...in a letter. I'm trying to stay off this medium for a while.

I liked it, but I can see it's an unusual way of telling a story and not one that would appeal to everyone.

The overuse of 'randomness' bothers me as well, but in this case I'm using it to mean the obedience of sudden, irrational, socially unacceptable impulses. It's the first and truest word that came.

The best time is rapidly passing-- I'm on break until Sunday-- but after that I'm available at least a little on Saturdays and Sundays. I appreciate the offer of transport home, but I've got too much rehearsal going on to leave.

Oh, I forgot y'all have the whole week off! Well, that's a possibillity, if you're home and wouldn't mind giving up a little bit of your break...it would mean I'd have to prepare my questions a little sooner than expected, but it would definitely be easier than driving to New Orleans. How would you feel about tomorrow night?
