Sorry about that big black cloud that's changed this beautiful day to cloudy. I thought it would be nice to hang out some laundry. Obviously, I didn't realize that the ramifications would be immediate.

Shall we have an experiment where I go pull in the laundry to see if we can make it a nice day again?

We were walking around town the other night and came across a shop full of yachting accoutrements. Ropes, weights, winches and clamps decorated the windows. So the one thing I haven't really (completely) appreciated before about having only one room for a living space is that you don't need to duplicate so many items. Tonight, at some point, I crossed the virtual finish line. Fifty Thousand Words. However, I haven't finished the plot. I thought I would be closer than I came in the word count, but it's not a Bad Thing. I will keep working on this one. I want to have a complete first draft by the end of December. Ahhhh yes. I hit my weekend word goal. I was secretly hoping to have a good couple of days and go beyond even that 30,000 that I needed to get to in order to keep the hounds of failure from my door. But it wasn't meant to be. I only need to keep up the pace for another 7 days ( Read more... )

Today and tomorrow are going to be the litmus test. If I don't get to at least 30k by tomorrow night, I think this project is doomed. Meaning, at least from the standpoint of hitting 50,000 by the end of the month. I do intend to finish the story, whether or not I hit the word count goal. But I don't want to lose...
