Finally had the epiphany I'd been seeking:  I'm addicted to complaining.  Now, time to work on fixing that...

This is twice now that a faux pas during a game of "Apples to Apples" has ruined my evening because people are hardcore assholes to me afterwards.

Nobody's listening anymore.
I don't know how to make anything better for myself.

I just woke up from an odd dream where a friend had set up an alternate reality game.  The last part I remember is me, charging up to the house where I'd (in the dream) recently attended a party and had a bad case of foot-in-mouth.  Ray was dual-wielding daggers (in true rogue fashion).  That's all I can remember right now.

Back to bed.

Made plans.
Plans fell through.

I make new plans.
New plans fall through.

Tired of plans.

So, I went to SpoCon this weekend.  First convention I've gone to without a specific event in mind, and I had a lot more fun than I thought I would.  Got crabby towards the end of Saturday night, but overall enjoyed myself.

They had these "Mad Marmot Mystery Boxes" that made you track down some of the guests and collect your prize from them.  I ( Read more... )

Went to comedy night with Dominic and Julia.  It's been too long since I'd seen either one of 'em.

During what was essentially the encores of the last comedy act, I stepped outside for a smoke.

I stood on the curb, trying to shut out the whirlwind of emotional energies of a crowd leaving a concert at the Knitting Factory while savoring my cigarette.

Lately, I've been thinking about a lot of stuff.  Lot of thinking, but not much blogging about my thoughts...

Anyways, I thought up a concept of the universe, and all its minute/quantum-ish interactions, all being part of (for lack of a better term) one giant machine of some sort.  I felt so proud of myself -- I thought it sounded rather ingenious.
