Tony Stark, I've heard you're the man to see for a project I've got going on.  If you wouldn't mind, I'd like the opportunity to meet and discuss it.

That said, I'm looking to also speak with a woman named Selina Kyle.  Apparently, we have a lot to catch up on.

Lady's told me that the flu virus that seems to be going around is more than likely a ( Read more... )

There are people who think it's a curse? I just figured it was something seasonal. I guess they were suspicious because sometimes things happen here that last more than a day, like a week or so. And then the people who run this place came to 'help.'

Apparently. I feel any assumption that it's a curse may be exaggerated paranoia, but now that you've elaborated that they can last more than a day, there's also a chance they may be right. In either case, it should clear up in the next few days.

If it is a curse, we don't know what to expect anyway. So we might as well treat it like a good old-fashioned flu and not panic. My mom always says that there is no situation that can't be made worse by panicking.

Good plan, mass hysteria would probably only get more people sick.

So, you said your name was Clark Kent, right? Any relation to Kara?

Selina Kyle, huh.

Why's she of any interest to you, hot shot.

Are you a friend of hers?

She and I have some history that I'd like to get sorted out.

Depends.

What kind of history.

Well, you see, I'm... not entirely sure. That would be the issue at hand, actually.

I don't like this flu pandemic.

Are you sick?

No, I'm not sick, I just can't heal anyone when they have something like the flu.

And it's scary, it's reminds me of that world-wide influenza in 1918. The one in the history books.

I'm sure it won't get to that extent.

In the past 'curses' have lasted anywhere from the usual 24 hours, to three days.
There is no true 'rules' to the way this reality functions.

ttly_not_batman November 9 2008, 05:02:01 UTC
Rules, no, but a general order, perhaps. How long has this epidemic been going on for?

1st_dream_king November 9 2008, 05:11:46 UTC
Mmm, yes, but insofar as others apply their own to it.

I am not entirely certain about the spreading influenza ( or so I believe it to be) as I only recently returned, myself.
From what I understand possibly 7 days?

Too long to be a curse, wouldn't you say?

Because everyone considers it a curse. And people are like cattle when they all get one common idea in their heads.

Charming way of putting it.

Don't act like you've never heard that before.

I hadn't, actually, but I'm somehow not surprised to hear you referring to human beings as cattle.
