The housemate cooked some of our purple cauliflower and I discovered the cooking water acted the same way purple cabbage water is supposed to work, as a PH tester. The boys and I played with these for a while last night. :-)
Magenta acid on the left, blue neutral in the center, and cyan alkaline on the right.
