UK ladies who already have kids - Did any of you not go to your antenatal classes?

Hi all, have any of you bought gifts for your midwife and/or birth partner(s)?  I'm having my mum and a friend as my birth partners and I'd like to buy them thank you gifts but have no idea what! Any suggestions?

I am 40wks+1 and have reached the fed up stage. Baby keeps engaging and then floating free again and I've had no show. I've been having a lot of random contractions that don't lead to anything, but I've had Braxton Hicks since the first trimester anyway. I'm about 25 weeks and I've been getting Braxton Hicks basically since the beginning. They've been getting stronger and more frequent. They now happen several times a day every day. With my son I had pretty bad pre-eclampsia (protein off the scale, bp nearing 150/100). It meant I needed to be induced at 37wks and ended up with an emergency section. I'd rather avoid all that happening this time around (I'm 20wks now, no hint of problems yet). My consultant has suggested I could take low dose aspirin to prevent the pre-eclampsia ( Read more... )
