So I am 6 weeks post-partum this Saturday, its quite expected to be thinking about 'getting in shape' and returning to pre-pregnancy size but has anyone had any problems with their face. Alexander was born on 25/09/2010 at 0216 weighing 8lbs 1oz. He was born naturally at home.

I've outgrown my maternity support belt and the hospital have given me the next size up. They didn't want my old one, so would anyone here like it? It's a bog-standard NHS belt (a bit like this), in a size Small which fiited me from approximately 24 weeks to 30 weeks, and I'm a size 10 with a large bump ( Read more... )

I've just had a home visit from my midwife to go through my birth plan. I can have a water birth at Salisbury District Hospital - hooray! I hadn't even wanted one until watching a DVD at the NHS classes last night, and now the idea of a water birth (or at least water labour) seems really, really appealing. I'm due on the 13th November, and have planned to start my maternity leave on the 1st November. I do wish to hang on for as long as I can so I get more time with little one next year, but as time goes on I'm getting more and more tired and some days I feel I could start my maternity leave now! I have started researching cloth nappies, having given up on my midwife to be of any help in this department. I was reminded that a friend of mine has a small business selling nappies, and while it is primarily a local business (Bristol-based) there is a wealth of information on the different types of nappies and some arguments for real nappies ( Read more... )

Well the contractions took hours to come after my waters went. They kicked in proper around 2am and Lucy was born at 4.50am in the pool! Will add a photo and change from my default icon when I'm not on my mobile!
