Our mortgage broker is an idiot.  He doesn't reply to phone calls or emails.  I get that he works on commission and we are only approved for a small loan but still...this is ridiculous.  We need to understand exactly how much the closing costs are and what our options are to get them paid.  And the one person who can tell us that refuses to ( Read more... )

So, it seems that Mini-Winchester is a short sale.  What that means is that the homeowner (who, as it turns out, is also the occupant) is selling at a loss as compared to their mortgage.  Once the sale is complete they walk away with nothing and any monies they still owe on that mortgage fall into the category of Not Our Problem.

Saturday brought us a cancellation.  Sunday was better, if rather quick.

Our real estate agent was in a wedding on Sunday and was not able to meet us until 4:30.  What we didn't know what that he cut his timing a little close so he showed up in his tux, boutonniere still attached.  Very spiffy!  In fact, he is now Mr Spiffy for purposes of this ( Read more... )

The housing market is WEIRD.

We started poking at the idea of buying a house this past winter.  We're currently month-to-month on our lease so the timing is not an issue.  My credit score?  That's an issue.  So we're only able to finance based on Ulfr's income which leaves us somewhat limited in our options.
