i am having one of those days where i drop everything i pick up, and cant get my brain to work properly. i was nearly late for work as i couldnt get myself going, and then i wasnt doing what i should have been doing for my shift pattern today. then nothing was where it should be, so i had to go get it, its just been one of those days where nothing ( Read more... ) -

i had a great time, pet stewarding for jo was fantastic, and natashas creative writing skills came in useful, when we wanted to say something clever, some of our best critiques included phrases such as "hilarious face", "steward wants to take home for good dinner" and "mutual groomer". some of the rats were ftw, doug is lucky he got his black girl ( Read more... ) -
in which Oregon embaresses me
in front of the cute vet Gaston by pooing the smelliest poo ever on his nice clean table. she was not happy but it appears the lumps are abcesses and were squeezed, cleaned and she has some anti biotics to take and i have to try to bathe her with some salt water. this could be a challenge. her back legs are going a bit but not much we can do ( Read more... ) -
rather maudling rat chat
because i have been getting all excited about portsmouth, i have been talking a lot about the rats at work this week, dealing with stupid questions like "do they have names" and "how do i tell them apart". as well as about how long they live which lead on to whether i get upset when they die, and as i do, why do i put myself through it 20 or so ( Read more... ) -
horrible lumps
Oregon, my oldest lady has some small lumps that just look all horrible and wrong, she is about 33 months old so it would seem like its time to say goodbye. i am going to miss her, miserable girl that she is.
i ought to say more but just dont feel like it tonight. -
better late than never
i came back from boscombe with lots of cool hammocks some made by sarah and one i won in the raffle, a best russian blue rosette and a stinking cold. it took me six hours to get back from southampton, british rail can really make a person miserable when they put their mind to it ( Read more... ) -
day out in portsmouth
yesterday i went to see jo and jayne and had a lovely day, thank you very much for the food and the rat cuddles. polly and her babies are so cute, its hard to remember they start so little when they get so big. i really hope the little twisty girl makes it. we talked lots about rats, breeders and rat politics, and we were really bitchy at times. California
shes gone, i just went in to give her meds and she has left me already. i knew she was poorly but i didnt expect her to die so soon, she only got chesty on saturday. she was so beautiful and i cant believe she has gone.
