The speakeasy variety show Friday and Saturday nights was really fantastic. It was lovely to be part of a show that people put so much work into putting on. There were singers and jazz bands, and some independent films, and a running mob/prohibition-themed story with the MC & hosts. On Saturday I found I had lost my voice due to, I thought, talking and drinking at the club the previous night. Every day in July, I will be playing music in some unexpected place. A street corner, a cafe, BART station, anywhere reasonably quiet with foot traffic.
