ack! I'm glad you both are okay! I think it's awesome that the policeman gave out a teddy bear, even if he was a (*cough* the *cough*) distraction.

(Which makes me wonder -- was it supposed to be a gift for someone else, or does he just happen to carry around teddy bears for occasions like this?)

We carry teddy bears on my rig for just such an occassion, actually. Many emergency services personnel do now. Citizens and the Red Cross donate them for us to carry, and when we run out, if we haven't gotten any donated for a while, we just go buy some ourselves (which rarely ever happens).
