I spent the entire length of the morning penning letters to those families of the...lost students. I had no idea exactly how difficult it would be until I spent over an hour on the very first one. I am finally finished drafting my exam. I think I have been slipping since my first year, though I suppose as a teacher you must adjust your difficulty accordingly. No passage of hieroglyphs has ever given me as much trouble as this one. I thought it would only take a half hour, but that quickly quadroupled into two long, intensive hours. I received yet another postcard from my mum regarding an old childhood friend of mine. Apparently, according to her, he is doing quite well, both healthwise and in (I use her terms) the 'looks department', and wishes to see me. Yes, as the old addage goes, they must come to an end. Do not get me wrong, I do enjoy teaching...to a point. I am just not particularly looking forward to seeing a few students in particular, you know the ones. They could not care any less about their studies and they think it is entertaining to practice Charms in class and waste my time. ( Read more... )
