Just got a call from my oncologist telling me that the bone scan I did yesterday shows spots. This means that the cancer has moved to my bones. This means that I'm not doing great, and that this could very well be my last Vividcon ( Read more... )

First of all, on the hugging... my doctor basically left it up to me, but said that, of course, the less hugging, the less exposure to germs. I got my CAT scan results back to today, and they are, to quote my doctor, "really great"!!!

All of the tumors have shrunk by at least half, some more like three quarters. The tumor that was on my adrenal gland is GONE! This is all after only two rounds of chemo, and we're planning on doing six rounds. Whee!

Denis Leary has a new show, and it's like he made it for me! Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll is making me SO HAPPY. It's about an aging rock star who is very much past his prime, and his daughter he never knew he had drops into his life wanting his old band to get back together and write songs for her. I'm bouncing back from that last round of chemo, and feeling pretty darned good the past couple of days. I'm a bit bummed that I lost five pounds (calories are very important in keeping in prime chemo shape), but I'm working hard at gaining them back. I started my second round of chemo yesterday, and I go back and get more today and tomorrow. I LOVE THIS SHIT! I know it makes me feel like ass, but they way I look at it is that it's my lifeline, it's my frontline for fighting this cancer shit into remission, and how can that be anything but awesome?
