My first real run-in with US healthcare is as strange as it could be

 Two Tuesdays ago, I got another bout of what I till then thought was late night gastritis. I'd been getting these attacks several times over many months. When I went to the doctor back in June, she put me on two weeks of Pepcid and it looked like that was done.

Dear lord, Afi! What a nightmare! And the stupid thing is that it probably cost them more in the long run to keep sending you home and you coming back than it would have if they just looked into it fully the first time. Here's hoping they get to the absolute bottom of this and take care of it so that you're no longer in pain.

Thank you! No painkillers or word from my regular doctor yet. But I'm also just residually sore half the time with some pain if I get jangled too much. Mostly we're hoping I don't get into so much pain between now and a referral and *that* wait I have to go back to the ED.
