Someday I'll actually be doing stuff again
What have I been doing all week? Rather disappointingly, nothing. My surgery last Friday went well. I have four wee incisions covered by four tiny Steri-Strips. I only needed hydrocodone the first 48 hours. By Sunday I only needed one dose of the high-dose ibuprofen. I'm pretty conservative about painkillers. Some repairs required
The weeks post-birthday have been about one week of gallbladder pain, followed by the requisite one week of being exhausted. This more than the pain is what I dislike most about the attacks in general. Surgery is finally happening, we think?
My birthday was pleasant. We had dinner at Bon Nene, the little Japanese-Italian cafe near our house. I had my favourite dish there, their delectable mentaiko spaghetti. Surgeon updates and other exhaustions
As weird as this sounds, I have not yet been able to set up an appointment for gallbladder removal surgery. The surgical centre I saw a specialist at was supposed to call me to set a date and I was told to call them if no one did. Finches updates: Publisher's Weekly, Kirkus and wrapping up the guide
My strange little book is getting attention. First Publisher's Weekly gives me a starred review, then Kirkus posts nice things about Finches. I think my primary reaction this whole time has been just stunned and awed.
