Last night I went to a friend's house for a "wine tasting." We tried different wines - all taped up in brown bags - and attempted to determine what they were and guess their costs.  My munchkin turned 1 today. He ate his first cupcake and made a HUGE mess. It was adorable - chocolate from ear to ear. Tomorrow we're having a party for him. The next day he'll graduate from highschool and be off to college. The day after that he'll be married and I'll have grand-munchkins to shnuggle with. The time just flies.

I am all alone. Just me and a bunch of dirty dishes. My munchkin and my wife are off on vacation but I have work and can't go. This sucks. I miss my shnuggleberry. Yes, I miss my wife, too, but it's different. I've seen her practically every day for years. The munchkin's changing so fast, I don't want to miss anything. Argh.

I'm heating up a pan on the stove right now. I figured a good old fashioned bacon-and-eggs-with-coffee breakfast would be a great way to start my new regimen of waking up at 5am and getting to work by 7am. Go me - I even have time to blog a sec.

Tonight I cooked turkey and sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes were peeled and cut into large chunks, then doused with butter, sugar, and cinnimon and put in the oven in a medium sized pot with a lid on it at 350F. The munchkin's sick, as is his mommy, so I'm at home taking care of the both of them. I really need to be fixing and designing jigs and making sure that the Pokayoke system stays in decent shape, but I suppose that'll all have to wait until Monday. I went to Alabama yesterday with Wendy and the munchkin for a baby shower. For some reason baby showers are usually an all-female event, and this one was a usual baby shower, so I went to hang out at the dad-to-be's sister's house with a friend of mine while the party was on. Joseph loves springy doorstops. Not wanting him to get his fingers caught in the springs, and worried that he'd eat the ends off of any solid doorstop placed at floor level, I replaced the doorstops with thin felt pads placed at doorknob height.
