"Wa-Ter"
Our little munchkin's first real word is "Wa-Ter". He's only said it once, but it was in context (we gave him some water to wash down a pancake) and definitely a word, and not just a string of sounds like "dadadada" or "mamamama". We could actually see the gears turning as he said it. Parenthood's a trip.

0530: Wake up and prepare for the hike
0800: Arrive at friend's house
1000: Arrive at Vogul State Park
1030: Begin hike to Blood Mountain
1430: Get to the top of Blood Mountain (we are not in very good shape)

Behold, The Power Of Cheese ((((:
Joseph likes cheese!!! Whole milk mozzarella to be exact. I usually just get the more common skim milk mozzarella that comes in the medium sized blocks at every grocery store, but because of Joseph we sprung for the upgrade and... just... wow. Relativity
I've never liked reading, and there are 2 reasons. The first is that I'm really, really bad at it. I read slowly and methodically, and I often have to read a sentence a few times to understand what it meant. The second is that I quite often don't agree with the person who wrote whatever it is that I'm reading, and I end up arguing with a person who ( Read more... ) -

My munchkin is sick for the first time. I am sick, too, but not for the first time. We are awake. He is fussing. It's amazing how much snot his little nose can produce. If only there was a demand for it. We'd be rich! He threw up after eating, so I cleaned him off and changed him, after which my wife took him for some mommy snuggling, which seems ( Read more... ) -

My wife made me hot chocolate tonight because I don't feel well. I love hot chocolate. My computer, unfortunately, does not appear to share my sentiment. I hope delicious beverages are covered under my extended warranty.

I neglected to mention in my last post that Joseph was feeling a bit under the weather yesterday. He's been cutting a new tooth, so he was drooling everywhere and had a bit of a stuffy nose. As we started drifting off to sleep, however, his stuffy nose got worse and woke him up, so we spent a few hours trying to clear out his nose and get him back ( Read more... ) -

The other day Joseph was in the bathtub (taking a bath if you must know) when suddenly he flipped over into his tummy. Since this was a first, my wife and I were at once excited by his bold action and afraid that he would aspirate large quantities of water and die a quick, excruciating death right before our eyes.
