This week Science published a research paper looking at the life and conditions of elephants in captivity. The study compared elephants in European zoos with those in a Kenyan national park and a timber camp in Myanma (Burma) and looked at life expectancy and infant mortality rates between 1960 and 2005. So people are still on about Prop 2 and Prop 8 on my friends list. Impressive given that I don't think I have anyone from California listed. Anyhow, it's been interesting to see how some people have been commenting on how crap it was that both Prop 2 passed and Prop 8 failed and how because of this Californians value chickens more than gay people (
