Hrm... I've been a bit of a sod since April in terms of doing absolutely anything LJ related. Dear god... It just autosaved and I've been typing less than a minute. a friend of mine who lost her mother to breast cancer has done the walk a few times in Chicago...they started somewhere in Wisconsin and ended up at a park on Lake Shore Drive. we met her at the end of it one year and she just kind of collapsed with weakness and extreme emotion. i've never done it and it was hard for her to put the experience into words. needless to say, she said it pretty much changed her life...i went to Piedmont park to cheer on the walkers last year..the energy was incredible and exhilerating!

my grandmother is a breast cancer survivor so this is something that is really close to me. unfortunately it is something that is close to a lot of people...

Thank you heaps and bushels and scads. The walk isn't until October, but I think I'm going to wear some kind of t-shirt with all the names of donor's loved ones that have been affected by the disease. i would be honored to add your grandmother's name to the shirt. I'll keep you updated on how that fleshes out and if you have any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.

you're most welcome and that would be really cool! i'll tell my grandma...she'll really love it!

when i met my friend after her 3 day and last year at Piedmont, loads of people were wearing shirts, hats, etc. with names...i think it is a cool idea.
