Eharmony revealed

The first thing I ever noticed about the dating site Eharmony was that it did not allow for gay matches. But the jig seems to run even deeper than that:"Neil Clark Warren is the Christian evangelical who runs Internet dating titan eHarmony...a dating site that attracts a lot of Christians, and won't match gays or depressed people or anyone who's ( Read more... )

I was all over that bitch when it first came out. You have no idea how rabid of a fan I was with SparkMatch. I waited for its return for years.

Well, you can count me as yet another of those undateable people. I took this test a few years back and was also told my personality was unmatchable. Afterwards I did some research on Eharmony and discovered they seemed to exclude anyone who shows signs of depression. I decided to test that by going back on the site under another name and taking the test again. This time I lied when answering all the questions that seemed to have to do with mood, and guess what? I got matches! Haha. So, basically, Eharmony rejects those honest folks who aren't all smiles and laughter all of the time but accepts phonies and liars.

Neil Warren can kiss my melancholy ass!

I wear my rejection as a badge of honor.

DAMN STRAIGHT. FIGHT THE POWER!

That's pretty much what I concluded, too. It's a great way to screen out people if you hate depressives.

"Hello, my new friend. Why don't you take this test? It's fun."

I can speak to the myth that if you don't regularly attend church or aren't Christian, you don't get matches. I am Christian and do regularly attend church, and I get very few matches. My good friend who is not terribly religious and rarely attends church gets LOADS of matches. Overall, I've been pretty well disappointed with the service. While I AM a Christian and a big church-goer, I'm a progressive/liberal Christian, and EH tends to match me with women of the more conservative/evangelical bent. Once my subscription is up, I won't be renewing....
