Oriention and School
So, it's been a while since last I updated, and I figure I'd better fill people in on what's been happening. First things first: orientation in Graz! A bunch of us TA's from Vienna and the surrounding area decided to take the train town together on the cheapest ticket possible, which meant sticking to regional trains. Happenings!
Today was an excellent day. I had intended to go up to Klosterneuburg and explore, but my book was demanding to be read, and I just didn't feel like it. So instead I decided to wander the neighborhood and find a good place to read. Vienna Woods
Well, today is the day I finally got out and did something. Namely: I took the bus up to Kahlenberg, which is this little tiny tourist town on top of one of the mountains overlooking Vienna. Paco!
Spent about a half hour today playing fetch with Paco, the family dog. He was outside when I came home from grocery shopping, looking at me pitifully with a frisbee in his mouth. So I went and put my groceries away, and then went back outside to play. He's not quite as good at fetch as Amelia-- he'll grab the frisbee, but then just stand there ( Read more... ) -

Well, I've been here almost 5 days now. Two of my lovely former host sisters came into Vienna on Saturday to help me go shopping. Manuela looks SO different! I can't believe how much she's grown up. More Fulbright ranting (because at the moment it's my life)
I feel better about my Fulbright application today than I did last time. I had my interview, was told that I am an excellent candidate, got to talk about my essays with four awesome professors who gave me lots of fabulous tips on how to improve them (I was getting writers' block with all the written feedback, so it was good to switch things up a ( Read more... ) -

Applying for a Fulbright is starting to make me want to kill myself. Seriously. I have revised my essays probably five or six times by now. One of them doesn't even resemble the original anymore, because I completely re-wrote it, and now it may need to be re-written again. ARGH!
