One of my third graders says to me, pointing to the nutrition label on her Fruit2O bottle, "I always read these things on my cereal in the morning. I like reading the part about the sodium because sometimes my cereal will say it has zero mg sodium. I like it. Oh, em, gee!"

We ended up spending the entire afternoon at the UAF museum, staying until it closed at 5:00pm. That's the kind of museum-goers we are though. I don't think I can ever get enough of museums ( Read more... )

Today, on the first day of autumn, I saw my first snowfall in Alaska. They say that once it gets cold, it just keeps on getting colder. Until May.

I got to spend $5000 on books at B&N today. It was like Supermarket Sweep, except that I had an entire hour. I can't tell you just how much it rocked. Nothing else that happens to me this week could possibly eclipse that.

We did this once before. While we were living in Germany, the movie theater on post got the new James Bond movie on the same release date as in the States, so we eagerly planned a trip to catch the flick.
