Yesterday my ex-step-grandfather Bud died in the morning and my niece Madi was born less than five hours later. I'm emotionally drained.

I was born huge. Somewhere around four things changed and I never fully adjusted to being small. I don't like being reminded that I am not Hulk sized, so I like being able to pick up men that I'm interested in. Here is a portion of a story I'm working on. It's the one where I attempt to sound like a guy.

I was passed a Christmas card from my father this weekend. Whenever he decides to violate our whole ignore me and allow me to ignore you agreement I get uncomfortable but this time it was worth it. Not because of the chain restaurant gift card enclosed, but because he spelled my name T-o-r-Y.

Seriously, I laughed out loud.

Joe recently consented to look over a story I started and his complaint was that my male character doesn't talk like a guy.

So how do I talk like a guy and still advance the plot and not bore myself to tears?

When I was little I believed that the country was always getting better and that each generation was a little less racist than the last. Over the past eight years, I stopped believing that. Last night, my faith was renewed.
