i agree, it is not acceptablejulieasfolkNovember 24 2004, 15:57:57 UTC
This is so hard to accept. To think that this could have been prevented by simply taking her off the medication she'd been prescribed, but I believe it could have been one of the answers. I miss Mandy, and I think a good way for some of us to deal would be to volunteer our efforts toward educating others about what we now know these drugs are capable of doing. --Julie
To some extent, suicide can be a sign of depression lessening. Sometimes you're so depressed you can't focus enough to put together any sort of coherent plan. If Prozac lessens depression just enough to get you funcional, but not enough to get you happy...
Never know quite how to put this in words to people, but I am sorry for your loss. There is never a good or right time to lose familly that you are close too.
As for the medication, I was heavilly medicated as a youth and can say from experience that medication rarely is the best route for handing a childs problems. At best it makes them invisible till the kid has to deal with their emotions without the crutch of medicine, and at worst it imballances the child far more than they were before taking them. I am strongly against the use of psychological medication on anyone except in the most extreme of circumstances.
